In spring of 1995 on the ground of two companies ZAO "AGENS" and ZAO "CC "CONTSTAND" there was founded the Scientific-Technical Foundation "Certification Center "CONTSTAND ", which at the end of 1995 won the international competition for establishment of an internationally recognized certification center that would carry out conformity assessments in scope of quality management, product certification, product and service inspection and testing in Russia. That project was underway for five years.

During that period of time, the staff of STF "CC "CONTSTAND" acquired fundamental knowledge, developed deep practical skills (the ability to perform activities in conformity assessment and accreditation), and as well as they gained unique experience from specialists from leading certification bodies, inspection bodies, and laboratories of such countries as: France, the Great Britain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Spain and the USA.

The results of the unique activities of Russian and foreign specialists were accreditations of STF "CC "CONTSTAND", granted (from 2000) in the International Accreditation Body for the following scopes:

1. In 2002 for the first time in history of Russia the accreditation of the testing laboratory for compliance with requirements of standard EN ISO/IEC 17025 was granted by the leading international accreditation body – the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) (the Netherlands), a member of EA, IAF and ILAC;
2. In 2001 for the first time in history of Russia the accreditation of the inspection body for compliance with requirements of standard EN ISO/IEC 17020 was granted by the leading international accreditation body – the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) (the Netherlands), a member of EA, IAF and ILAC;
3. Application of the product certification methodology for compliance with requirements of European Directives implementing the conformity assessment schemes based on modules of the European Directive;
4. In 2002 for the first time in history of Russia the accreditation of the management system certification body for conformity with standard EN ISO/IEC 17021 (in scopes of ISO 9001, OHSAS 18000 (nowadays it is ISO 45001), ISO 14001), was granted by the leading international accreditation body – the Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) (the Netherlands), a member of EA, IAF and ILAC.

Since 2009 STF "CC "CONTSTAND" has held and maintained certificates of accreditation for the major lines of activity in the national accreditation system (Rosaccreditation).

STF "CC "CONTSTAND" is one of the oldest independent organizations delivering services in the scope of conformity assessment in Russia.

The great working experience over the years has allowed STF "CC "CONTSTAND" to develop the unique conformity assessment schemes and methods making it possible to improve its activities and to reduce its internal losses subsequent to the certification results, as well as to gain competitive advantages in the market, which is the main goal of any certification.

STF "CC "CONTSTAND" is a nonprofit organization that to a large extent facilitates its impartiality, independence and competence.

All the afore-said allow STF "CC "CONTSTAND" to carry out conformity assessments and testing in competently, independent and impartial manner, delivering to our clients the practice of product quality assurance, the product competitiveness and the improvement of the corporate customer activities.
